Pricing

One product. One plan. Priced by client.

You pay for the client companies you have connected, and nothing else. The whole product is included from the first client. Standard runs to 15 clients — past that, or when your team needs its own logins, pricing is a conversation.

What it costs

Standard

$200/ month for your first 5 clients

+ $40 / month per additional client, up to 15

The most Standard can cost is $600 a month, at 15 clients. A practice bigger than that is a firm, and firms are priced as firms — the card beside this one.

What that works out to

  • 5 clientsincluded in the base$200
  • 8 clients$320
  • 12 clients$480
  • 15 clientsthe most on Standard$600
  • QuickBooks Online sync with continuous updates
  • Monthly reporting packages with reviewed AI commentary
  • 13-week cash flow forecasts with versioned adjustments
  • Alerts, email digests, and a full audit trail

Firm

Custom

For a practice that has outgrown Standard in either direction: more than 15 clients, or more than one person needing access — a second CFO, an analyst, a bookkeeper who prepares the month and hands it over. At that scale you are a firm, whether or not you have hired yet.

Standard has one login for the practice. Separate logins for your team are not built yet, so this is a conversation rather than something you can buy today. We would rather say that than sell you a seat that does not exist.

What we would work out with you

  • How many clients you are bringing, and what a fair price for that book looks like
  • How many people need access, and whether each of them should see every client
  • Whether they need their own logins or are sharing one today
  • Who drafts and edits, and who approves and finalizes a package
  • When you need it, so we can tell you honestly whether we can get there

What would it free up? Run your numbers.

Three inputs, all yours — the result is arithmetic, not a promise.

Every account includes everything

There is no feature gating and there are no tiers to climb. The only thing that changes with the price is how many client companies you have connected.

  • QuickBooks Online sync with continuous updates
  • Portfolio dashboard with per-client health flags
  • Monthly reporting packages with reviewed AI commentary
  • 13-week cash flow forecasts with versioned adjustments
  • Configurable alerts with daily email digest
  • Audit trail on every sync, draft, edit, and finalization

Pricing questions

How does billing work today?

Paid plans are billed by direct invoice while self-serve checkout is being built. You agree to a plan, we invoice you; nothing is ever charged without your explicit agreement, and no card details pass through the product today.

What counts as a connected client?

A client company whose QuickBooks is connected to AboveBoard. Reports, forecasts, and alerts never count against anything. Billing starts when a client is connected to QuickBooks, not when you create the record, so setting up a client ahead of time costs nothing. The count drops when you delete a client; disconnecting on its own does not, because the history stays with you.

What happens when I add or remove a client?

Inside Standard the price simply follows the count — adding a client mid-month is prorated onto your next monthly invoice rather than charged on the spot. Standard tops out at 15 clients and $600 a month; past that you have outgrown it, and pricing becomes the Firm conversation. There are no overage charges and no feature gates at any count.

Can I cancel? What about refunds?

You can cancel at any time by email; self-serve cancellation ships with checkout. Your first payment has a 30-day money-back guarantee, full refund, no questions. After that, billing runs through the end of the paid month with no partial-month refunds. Billing is monthly, because the price follows a client count that can change month to month. The full terms are in section 6 of the Terms of Service.

Would you rather start free?

A small group of fractional CFOs gets 6 months of free access as design partners, starting when they connect their first client or 30 days after access is granted, whichever comes first, in exchange for honest feedback. After the free term they pay the published price, and we will not raise the rates they started at. Read about the design partner program.
